North Harbour professional, Sung Jin Yeo has won his third Pro Am event in 2023, to cap off his best season yet as a professional. Sung Jin's round of -8 64 around Pegasus Golf & Sports Club north of Christchurch was bogey free, with eight birdies and had an impressive five eagle chances on the greens. Sung Jin managed to keep out Australia's Aiden Didone, who also went bogey free for his 66. Third best was Hastings Golf Club Head Professional, Brett Allen who shot 67, which included five birdies and an eagle while playing the course for the first time.

The Powerturf Pegasus Classic was a return of professional golf to the Pegasus Golf Club for the first time since the DVS Open moved from Pegasus to Clearwater in 2022, with the course presented in immaculate condition for the professionals and amateurs competing and raising money for Mike King's, I Am Hope foundation. The event was played over a single round for $25,000, featuring some of New Zealand's best golfers, including some returning from the PGA Tour of Australasia in the lead in to the final event of the PGA Order of Merit, the Cello Invitational on the 10th & 11th of December in Queenstown.

The win sees Sung Jin Yeo jump two spots on the NZPGA Order of Merit, to 7th place for 2023, while Josh Geary has extended his lead to 9,000 points over Tyler Hodge in the penultimate event of the year.
