The New Zealand PGA team of Pieter Zwart (Pictured), Chas Craig, Dongwoo Kang and Hamish Campbell lead after day 1 of the Four Nations cup, providing a clinic against the Internationals team, winning 5 of the 6 matches to have a two-match advantage over the Australian and South African PGA teams leading into Day 2.
 
Dongwoo Kang and Pieter Zwart both controlled their matches from the outset and cruised to victory in their morning singles games, winning 6&5 and 5&4, respectively against Mostyn Farmer and Gavin Coyle. Chas Craig of Masterton showed great resolve and patience, overcoming a 3-down deficit at one point to come back and win his much 1 up on the 18th hole to provide an extra crucial point for the New Zealand team against Lee Owens. Palmerston North professional Hamish Campbell also showed great resolve only losing his match 1 down against David Tapping.
 
Afternoon Four Ball Best Ball matches saw pairings of Pieter & Hamish against David Tapping & Gavin Coyle and Chas & Dongwoo face off against Mostyn Farmer and Lee Owens. These were tight matches from the get-go, but both pairings remained composed and in control each winning 3&2, to provide the final two points of the day.
 
In Day Two, the New Zealand PGA team face off against the Australian PGA team, in an effort to maintain their advantage heading into the final day 3.
