Pender and Pearce tied at the top

Jared Pender and Dan Pearce are tied for the lead after three rounds of the Augusta Funds Management supported by Pipetech Ngamotu Classic. It was a day of mixed fortunes for both players. Play was suspended yesterday after consistent rain made the course unplayable and the afternoon field returned this morning at 7.30 to complete round two. Pearce continued his good play and a birdie, birdie finish for a nine under par 63 and his eleven under par total placed him in the lead. Pender played well to keep in touch with a round of 67 and this afternoon birdies at the 16th and 17th gave him a round of 68 and a total of ten under par. Pearce was cruising along at 13 under until a dramatic bogey, double bogey finish drew him back to the field.

Harry Bateman is outright third on -8 and Mark Brown, Troy Ropiha and Pieter Zwart are close behind on -7. The stage is set for a very exciting finish tomorrow.
