New Zealand PGA Q-School Entries Now Open2 Dec 2009
The Professional Golfers' Association of New Zealand has announced that it's 2010 Q-School will be conducted on the Centennial Course at the Taupo Golf Club over two rounds on Thursday and Friday, 14/15 January 2010.
Subject to the number of entries received, there will be up to eight Domestic Tour Cards on offer, with the first two or three, (to be determined), gaining the right to starts in all events on the PGA Pro-Am Tour for 2010. The other successful players will be likely to receive starts in most of the years events.
This Q-School is also open to current members of the PGA who may wish to improve their tournament ranking.
Players from the School held earlier this year have one last event, the Te Puke Pro-Am on Friday 18 December, to finalise their position and try to make the top 25 on the Order of Merit. These 25 players will have to have played the minimum number of eight events to be eligible.
For those who do not make it, they can return to the Q-School in search of re-newing their credentials, safe in the knowledge that should they miss out at that school they will receive a "year of grace" in that they will still be able to retain PGA Domestic Tour Card status and will be able to enter 2010 events, although their eligibility status will have dropped.
