Josh Geary | Josh Geary cashed in on a flying visit back home with a convincing win in the Samsung Whitford Park Pro-Am over the weekend. He added a 67 to his first round 68 for a 135 total, seven under par. He was “only par” through his front nine Sunday with a bogey on the first and a birdie on the 5th, but four birdies and no errors coming home set up his excellent total.
Richard Lee warmed up for the final stage of Japan Tour School in two weeks by sharing second place, adding to his first day 70 with a 68, a bit of a mixture with six birdies and three bogeys, for his 138 total.
Hogan Cho had another 69 to be second equal. He would not have been too happy with his bogey-bogey start, but made amends with two quick birdies on the 2nd and 6 before another bogey on the 8th hole, then came home three under par.
In fourth place alone was Dean Sipson, adding a solid round of 70 to his 69 for 139 total, mixing two bogeys with three birdies, a crucial one on the last hole.
Mark Brown put together a no-nonsense round of one under par 70, birdying the 5th, a bogey on 10, and then a second birdie at 12, the rest pars. Together with his first round 71 a total of one under par 141 for a share of fifth place with Andrew Searle from Cambridge, who added a 70 to his first day 71. Searle had one bogey and one birdie on the front nine, started home with a double on the 10th, but then birdied 11, 12, and 15 to be back one under.
