City of Dunedin Launches Legends Event6 Nov 2009
The City of Dunedin Legends Pro-Am got under way last week when the golf tournament was officially announced in the city.
The tournament was heralded at a launch at Speight’s Brewery, with Mayor and keen golfer Peter Chin welcoming the event to Dunedin.
The event will involve approximately 40 senior professionals, including New Zealand great Sir Bob Charles.
Others who are expected to compete are Australians such as Rodger Davis, Terry Gale, Bob Shearer, Randall Vines, David Good, plus New Zealand’s Simon Owen, Stuart Reese, Jim Lapsley, Craig Owen, Garth Domigan, and new senior Peter Smith. Others who could also be here are “rookie legends” Peter Senior, Peter Fowler and Mike Harwood, all performing well on the European Senior Tour.
The event will be played on Friday and Saturday 26 & 27 February 2010 with a practice round and coaching clinics on the 25th.
The Prize purse is $30,000, and the event will form part of the Australasian Legends Order of Merit.
